No risk, no samosa

As I reach for a samosa at the market’s food bar, a woman swoops in next to me.

“Are those any good?” she asks.

“I don’t know. I’ve never bought them before.”

“So you don’t know if they’re any good, but you’re going to buy them?”

“It’s a risk I’m willing to take.”

She lingers as I put the samosa into a container and seal the lid.

“I just wonder if they’re terrible. Don’t you want to know that?”

“I do,” I say. “And in about ten minutes, I’m going to be able to answer that question.”
