Courtesy call

AT&T calls. It’s a courtesy, just to see how things are going.

I tell the guy that our Internet is slow.

He starts to troubleshoot the issue.

“No, no,” I say. “The Internet works, it’s just kind of slow.”

“Uh.”

“You asked and I’m just telling you the Internet is, you know, not awesome.”

“Oh man, I hear you. Honestly, I don’t think there’s anything I can do about that.”

We agree that the solution is beyond the scope of this call. He wishes me a good evening. I will remember our time fondly tomorrow while buffering.
